GRINDOCTOR'S

HOME-BREWs

I have been an avid home-brewer for several years now, producing a variety of over 70 different ales and lager recipes for my label - Men by the Sea (MbtS) - all of my own design.

Here I share the best of them, along with some tips and tricks for the fellow brewer.

A fledging passion is the cult of Tiki! Over the last years I learned much about rums, spices, tinctures and bitters. The result is a nice, little collection of recipes for Tiki cocktails, drams and mixes! Check it out!

Ales

Rummage through my recipes for top-fermenting beer, from quaffable Oceanian Golden Ale  to heavy Imperial Stout!

Lager

Here you find bottom-fermeted classics like Muenchner Hell or Festbier and modern interpretations of Mexican or Vienna lager.

Tiki Lounge

The Cult of Tiki! Tropical, exotic and just damn good! In my Tiki Lounge you'll find a collection of recipes, both favorite classics and my own creations!

General notes on my recipes:

*Malts

I use mainly malts from Weyermann. I do not get paid for any advertising, I simply found their malts suiting my taste.

*Water and brewing salts:

All recipes were brewed with soft, local Norwegian water from the Vestfold region. Calcium, cloride, magnesium and sulphate ions are neglectable for brewing purposes. All salt additions can therefore be seen as absolute values for calculation of ion concentrations.

*Maturing/Conditioningg

After fermetation, I usually coldcrash a day or two, then bottle the beer. I don't use kegs, all beers therefore are bottle-conditioned/matured.
